Ayman Cherkaoui

Lead Counsel and Expert Chair (National Legal Reform)

Mr. Ayman Cherkaoui, a legal specialist, is currently the Special Advisor for Climate Change and Negotiations to COP22/CMP12/CMA1 Presidency, Lead Counsel in the Climate Change Programme of the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law, Climate Change Expert with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and Fellow at the Oxford Climate Policy Centre. He has also served as the COP 22 Advisor to the Environment Minister of Morocco. Mr. Cherkaoui has worked for VALYANS Consulting, the International Air Transport Association and Air Liquide. He holds degrees in Finance, Law, Engineering, Climate Change, Food Security, Sustainable Development, Negotiations and other topics from several universities including McGill University, University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, Université de Montréal and EM Lyon.
