Sean Sutherland is studying for the MA in Law at the University of Bristol. He previously completed a broad undergraduate degree in Geography and Politics and was awarded a first.

His essay, on the topic of human rights and environmental protection, combines both these degree experiences and (I hope) takes a distinctly interdisciplinary approach to the issue. He has long been interested in this tension (as some view it) or interdependence between human rights and environmental policy. He has explored this topic in the field, taking part in a fieldtrip to the Brazilian Amazon as part of my undergraduate studies in 2017.

In addition to his postgraduate studies, he also works as a student fellow for the University of Bristol and has helped research and design large parts of an interdisciplinary undergraduate unit on Sustainable Development.
